This magnificent Shiraz rug, originating from Persia, embodies the authentic spirit of nomadic craftsmanship. Made with hand-carded wool on a cotton warp, each knot tells a story of tradition and mastery. Its density, between 160,000 and 200,000 knots/sqm, and its generous thickness make it a robust and valuable piece.
The rug features a bold central design with two large, elongated geometric medallions, vividly decorated with ladder patterns and concentric squares in green, beige, and black. The use of abrash is evident, lending the wool vibrant natural nuances that highlight its authenticity.
The field's base is a deep red, enriched by a myriad of small stylized “boteh” motifs dancing across the surface. In the four corners, two dark blue triangles stand out, also studded with identical “boteh”.
An elaborate border surrounds the main field, characterized by a light beige band decorated with stylized leaves alternating in warm colors like orange, brown, and green. Thin edgings with small stylized flowers separate the main bands, adding a touch of delicacy.
This rectangular Shiraz rug is not merely a furnishing accessory, but a work of art that carries the warmth and soul of ancient Persian traditions. Perfect for enriching a living room, study, or bedroom with a touch of exoticism and history.
