The Rubin rug is an authentic expression of Pakistani textile art, carrying the charm of tribal designs and the richness of a millennial history. Crafted from exquisite hand-carded wool, this rug highlights the softness and resilience of natural fibers, while the cotton warp ensures stability and durability for this splendid textile work.
Its design features fascinating alternating horizontal bands. Some of these bands present a more uniform weave with evident color variations, known as abrash, which testify to the artisanal nature of the dyeing process and lend depth and uniqueness to the piece. Other bands are richly decorated with a variety of traditional geometric motifs, including stylized diamonds, stepped elements, and ancestral symbols that tell ancient stories of nomadic peoples. It is a perfect example of a banded design.
The color palette is warm and vibrant, dominated by various shades of red, terracotta, and burgundy, which blend harmoniously with accents of beige, gold, turquoise, and green. This combination creates a welcoming and lively atmosphere, ideal for enriching any setting, from classic to modern, adding a touch of exoticism and warmth.
With a density of 160,000-200,000 knots/sqm and a thickness of 0.9 cm, the Rubin rug is not only aesthetically pleasing but also a durable investment. Every detail reflects the mastery of Pakistani artisans, from the meticulous selection of the wool to the complex knotting technique, making it a unique piece of great artisanal value.
