This splendid Afghan Kilim, an authentic work of textile art, is entirely made from hand-carded wool with a cotton warp, testifying to the rich artisanal traditions of Afghanistan. Its flat-weave construction makes it robust and versatile, ideal for enriching any environment with a touch of color and history.
The design features a vibrant all-over pattern with a succession of multicolored diamonds, each enclosing smaller, detailed geometric motifs. Colors range from brilliant turquoise to terracotta orange, from beige to lavender and blue, creating a dynamic and harmonious visual effect. The outer border echoes the terracotta tones with a sequence of hexagons framing the central field. Each piece is unique, with possible slight color variations known as 'abrash,' a distinctive sign of natural dyeing and manual craftsmanship.
With a density ranging between 160,000 and 200,000 knots/sqm and a thickness of just 0.3 cm, this Kilim is lightweight yet incredibly durable. Perfect for those seeking a furnishing element that combines aesthetics, durability, and a deep connection to traditional craftsmanship.
