This authentic Afghan Kazak rug is a magnificent example of artisanal mastery, entirely hand-knotted. Made with precious hand-carded wool, which gives it exceptional softness and resistance, it features a robust cotton warp, ensuring long-lasting durability. Originating from the ancient traditions of Afghanistan, each knot tells a story of culture and dedication.
The central field is characterized by a serene sky blue, serving as a backdrop for a harmonious sequence of stylized geometric medallions and 'gul' motifs. These elements, rendered in warm shades of terracotta and cream, are ancestral symbols deeply rooted in Kazak culture, giving the rug a unique and fascinating identity. Every detail is a testament to the weaver's skill.
The main border, set against a delicate cream background, is embellished with a series of cartouches and stylized floral motifs, echoing the blue and terracotta hues, creating an elegant and refined contrast. Thinner secondary borders with meander patterns enclose the composition, gracefully defining the entire work. The chromatic nuances, with slight color variations known as 'abrash', are the result of using natural dyes and the artisanal knotting process, making each rug a unique and unrepeatable piece.
With a density of 100,000-150,000 knots/sqm and a thickness of 1.1 cm, this Kazak rug offers not only remarkable robustness but also a pleasant tactile sensation. It is a textile work of art that brings warmth and a distinctive character to any setting, whether modern or classic, adding a touch of exoticism and an echo of millennia-old stories.
