This magnificent Tabriz rug, originating from Persia, embodies the richness and elegance of ancient Persian knotting tradition. Its composition is a triumph of detail, featuring an elaborate central medallion that captivates the eye, surrounded by a field densely populated with exquisite floral motifs, including palmettes, rosettes, and sinuous arabesques. The design is a classic example of the Tabriz style, renowned for its fineness and ornamental complexity.
The color palette is vibrant: a deep lacquer red dominates the field, enriched by shades of midnight blue, ivory cream, emerald green, and touches of golden yellow and light blue. The main border, in dark blue, presents a continuous series of smaller floral motifs that elegantly frame the central design, creating a harmonious and well-defined contrast.
Crafted with hand-carded wool for the pile and a cotton warp, this rug ensures not only a soft and warm feel but also remarkable resistance to wear. Its knot density, estimated between 160,000 and 200,000 knots/sqm, testifies to the meticulous skill of the artisans and the durability of the artifact. With a pile thickness of approximately 1 cm, it offers a comfortable tactile experience and a luxurious appearance.
This Tabriz is not merely a furnishing item but a piece of history and culture, capable of transforming any environment with its majestic presence and the timeless beauty of its designs.
