This authentic Gorawan rug, originating from Persia, embodies the rich tradition of hand-knotting. Characterized by a vibrant cardinal red central field, shades of abrash highlight the depth and uniqueness of the naturally dyed wool. The design is dominated by a large, multi-layered geometric medallion with stepped outlines, extending almost the entire length of the rug.
The corners are enriched with spandrels that echo the medallion's motifs, creating a harmonious composition. The main border, in a deep midnight blue, is adorned with stylized geometric patterns that contrast beautifully with the red field, framed by thin secondary borders in red and cream. Every detail reveals the craftsmanship and Persian cultural heritage.
Hand-knotted with hand-carded wool on a cotton warp, this rug features a density of approximately 160,000-200,000 knots/sqm and a thickness of 1 cm. It is a piece that carries stories from ancient times, ideal for enriching classic or modern environments with a touch of timeless elegance.
