This magnificent Yalameh runner is an authentic expression of Persian nomadic textile art. Originating from the Fars region, near Shiraz, it has been expertly hand-knotted using hand-carded wool, ensuring a robust weave and a dense, velvety pile surface.
The vibrant red field is enriched by a series of central geometric medallions, predominantly in ivory tones, creating a strong visual contrast. Surrounding these medallions and across the rest of the field unfolds an all-over design composed of small geometric motifs, floral and animal stylizations, which tell stories of daily life and tribal symbolism. Shades of blue, green, earth tones, and black add depth and chromatic richness.
The borders feature an intricate succession of stylized motifs and zoomorphic figures, typical of Yalameh craftsmanship, elegantly framing the central design. The variation in color, known as abrash, is a distinctive trait that gives each runner a unique character and attests to the naturalness of the dyes used and the manual work.
With a density of 160,000-200,000 knots/sqm and a thickness of 1.2 cm, this runner is not only a visually striking piece of decor but also a durable and comfortable rug, perfect for hallways or entryways, capable of bringing a touch of warmth and Persian tradition to any setting.
