This magnificent Mamlouk rug, originating from Pakistan, is a sublime expression of ancient textile art, reinterpreted with a vibrant and contemporary color palette. Crafted from hand-carded wool on a cotton warp, it boasts a remarkable knot density (250,000-300,000 knots/sqm) and a thickness of 0.6 cm, testifying to its quality and durability.
Its design is dominated by a finely detailed central star-shaped medallion in various shades of teal and turquoise, elegantly standing out against the main field. The field, characterized by a rich all-over pattern, is an intricate network of geometric motifs and stylized florals in warm tones of burnt orange, terracotta, and light brown. The border, also in turquoise, features smaller decorative elements that beautifully frame the rug.
The abrash effect, evident in the chromatic variations of the naturally dyed wool, adds depth and character, giving the rug a lived-in, authentic appearance. This piece is not just a furnishing item; it's a piece of history and tradition capable of infusing warmth and a unique atmosphere into any setting, from classic to modern.
