This magnificent Gorawan rug, originating from Persia, is an authentic expression of tribal knotting art. Characterized by a bold design and deep chromatic harmony, it represents a piece of textile history and culture.
At its center stands an imposing geometric medallion, with strong and angular lines, woven in shades of intense blue, black, and deep red, immediately capturing attention. The main field is dominated by a vibrant red, enlivened by stylized geometric motifs radiating from the center. The corners feature sections of the central medallion, creating a sense of visual balance. A rich black border frames the entire composition, adorned with a series of secondary motifs and minute details that enhance its complexity.
The craftsmanship in hand-carded wool (with cotton warp) gives the rug unmistakable robustness and softness, with a density of 160,000-200,000 knots/sqm and a thickness of approximately 1 cm. Slight color variations, known as "abrash," may be noticed, testifying to the use of natural dyes and the craftsmanship of its creation, adding character and authenticity to this piece.
A Gorawan rug like this is not just a furnishing accessory but a work of art that infuses warmth and personality into any environment, from the living area to the study, creating a unique and welcoming atmosphere.
