This magnificent Ardakan rug, originating from historical Persia, embodies the essence of Persian craftsmanship. With a knot density ranging between 160,000 and 200,000 per square meter and a thickness of approximately 1 cm, every detail is a testament to skill and tradition. It is a work that carries with it the millenary charm of hand-knotted art.
The design of this rug is characterized by an imposing central medallion, elegantly defined and embellished with stylized floral motifs, standing out against a vibrant and deep red field. At the four corners, the spandrels harmoniously echo the medallion's design, creating a perfect visual balance. The entire field is a triumph of detailed floral patterns, including palmettes, vine scrolls, and lotus flowers, distributed with a grace that avoids an all-over effect. The rich and complex border completes the work with a series of bands that alternate geometric and vegetal motifs, creating a sumptuous frame.
The color palette is dominated by the intense red of the field, combined with the dark blue of the medallion and main borders. Touches of ivory, sky blue, and ochre tones enrich the floral details, adding depth and luminosity. The presence of slight color variations, known as "abrash," is a distinctive characteristic of natural dyeing and adds an additional dimension of authenticity. Made from hand-carded wool, with a cotton warp, this rug offers a soft and durable texture, designed to last over time.
Ideal for enriching living rooms, dining rooms, or studies, this Ardakan is not just a rug, but a true furnishing element that infuses warmth, character, and a sense of luxury. Its timeless beauty makes it suitable for both classic and modern environments, creating a focal point of great visual impact and enhancing the atmosphere of any room.
