A magnificent Gorawan rug of Persian origin, expertly hand-knotted with artisanal craftsmanship. The pile is made of high-quality hand-carded wool, while the warp is durable cotton. This specimen boasts a density of 160,000-200,000 knots/sqm and a thickness of approximately 1 cm, attesting to its robustness and soft feel.
The design is dominated by a large geometric central medallion with stepped contours, which immediately draws the eye. The main field is rich with intricate stylized floral decorations and symmetrically arranged geometric motifs, often displaying an `abrash` effect that adds depth and character. The rug's corners harmoniously echo the medallion's shape, completing the composition. The border features multiple bands with traditional designs that elegantly frame the entire piece.
The color palette is vibrant and refined, with an intense red alternating with elegant shades of cream and prominent accents of black/dark brown, which delineate the design details. This Gorawan rug is not merely a piece of furniture, but a textile work of art that brings warmth and a timeless atmosphere to any room, enhancing spaces with its history and unmistakable beauty.
