This magnificent Gorawan rug embodies the essence of ancient Persian weaving tradition. Originating from Persia, it is a superb example of nomadic craftsmanship, characterized by a vibrant design and a richness of detail that tells stories of distant lands.
Made with hand-carded wool, this rug boasts exceptional durability and an unmistakable softness to the touch. Its density of 160,000-200,000 knots per square meter ensures long-lasting quality and a dense pile that highlights the complexity of its patterns. The pile of approximately 1 cm thickness contributes to a feeling of warmth and comfort.
The rug showcases a classic medallion and corner (Lachak-Toranj) design, dominating the intense red field. The central medallion, with its well-defined contours, is enriched with geometric and stylized motifs that extend towards the four corners. The field is predominantly fiery red, with accents of deep blue, luminous cream, and details in earthy tones, green, and ocher. The natural color variation, known as abrash, is visible and gives the rug a unique character and an authentic look, demonstrating the use of natural dyes and artisanal work.
The rug's border, in dark blue, is adorned with a succession of rosettes and stylized floral motifs, harmoniously framing the central field. Each decorative element is woven with great skill, revealing a taste for symmetry and balance typical of tribal rugs.
Ideal for enriching living rooms or studies, this rectangular Gorawan rug is not merely a furnishing item, but a true piece of history and culture. Its combination of warm and cool colors, coupled with its timeless design, makes it perfect for both classic and contemporary environments, adding a touch of elegance and exotic charm.
