This magnificent Tabriz rug, originating from Persia, is an exquisite example of the ancient Persian textile tradition. Crafted with premium hand-carded wool on a cotton warp, it boasts a high knot density ranging between 160,000 and 200,000 knots per square meter, attesting to its exceptional quality and meticulous workmanship.
The design is dominated by a vibrant navy blue central medallion, elegantly enclosed by stylized floral motifs, which stands out against an intense red field. The corner spandrels mirror the medallion's shapes, creating visual harmony. The entire field is finely adorned with an all-over design of palmettes, rosettes, and flowering vines, typical of classic Persian iconography. The main border, in a deep blue, is ornamented with a sequence of cartouches and flowers, flanked by subtle guard bands.
The colors, predominantly red, dark blue, and cream, with accents of light blue, green, and ochre, were achieved with natural dyes, imbuing the rug with unique depth and luster, sometimes featuring slight variations in tone (abrash) that add character and authenticity. With a thickness of approximately 1 cm, this Tabriz is not merely a furnishing item, but a true investment and a piece of cultural history, capable of enriching the atmosphere of any space with its timeless beauty.
