This magnificent Gorawan rug, originating from Persia, is a superb example of ancient Persian knotting art. Crafted with high-quality hand-carded wool and a cotton warp, it boasts a density of approximately 160,000-200,000 knots/sqm, attesting to its robustness and fine execution.
The design is dominated by a large geometric central medallion, with elaborate details and a star motif that captures attention. It is framed by intricate corner spandrels that echo and complete the main design. The secondary motifs, distributed throughout the field, are also geometric in nature, enriched with small traditional symbols.
The color palette is vibrant: an intense red as the predominant field color, balanced by dark blue, accents of light blue, cream, and black, with touches of ochre and brown. The presence of abrash (natural color variations) adds depth and character, testifying to the use of natural dyes and the authenticity of the artisanal process. A rug with great visual impact and timeless elegance, perfect for enriching any environment with a touch of Eastern history and culture.
