This splendid Gorawan rug, originating from historical Persia, embodies the robustness and intrinsic beauty of Persian craftsmanship. Hand-knotted with hand-carded wool on a cotton warp, it features a dense weave and excellent durability, ideal for environments that require a touch of timeless elegance.
The design is dominated by a large central medallion, characteristic of rugs from the Heriz region, presented here with a purely geometric grandeur. Angular and stylized motifs, serrated leaves, and small rosettes are precisely distributed across the field and corners, creating a balanced visual harmony. The rich color palette features deep red as the main color, flanked by tones of profound black, luminous cream, midnight blue, and terracotta, enriched with touches of light blue and beige that add depth. The presence of abrash (natural color variations) highlights the use of natural dyes and the authenticity of a handcrafted work.
With a density of 160,000-200,000 knots/sqm and a thickness of approximately 1 cm, this rug is not just a furnishing item, but a piece of history and tradition capable of transforming the atmosphere of any space, from classic to more contemporary.
