The Rubin runner, originating from Pakistan, is a magnificent expression of traditional textile craftsmanship. Made with hand-carded wool on a cotton warp, it offers a robust texture and a fascinating aesthetic, typical of tribal rugs.
The central field of this runner features an elegant design of horizontal stripes, interspersed with small, discreet motifs, creating a harmonious and relaxing visual rhythm. At both ends, the rug is enriched with wide decorative bands showcasing elaborate polychrome geometric motifs. These include vibrantly colored octagonal medallions, with red, blue, yellow, and green details, which beautifully contrast with the rug's beige-sand background.
The use of hand-carded wool contributes to the "abrash" effect, those natural color variations that occur in the yarn, lending each piece a unique character and a seasoned look. With a density of 160,000-200,000 knots/sqm and a thickness of 0.9 cm, this runner is not only beautiful to behold but also durable and comfortable underfoot. Perfect for enhancing hallways, entrances, or any space that calls for a touch of color and history.
