This splendid Ardakan rug, originating from Persia, is a celebration of traditional craftsmanship. Made with hand-carded wool on a cotton warp, it boasts a density of approximately 160,000-200,000 knots per square meter, testifying to its excellent workmanship and durability. With a thickness of 1 cm, it offers a feeling of softness and resilience.
The design is dominated by a majestic central medallion, richly decorated with stylized floral motifs, standing out against a vibrant red field. This field is in turn embellished with an elaborate all-over floral design, with leaves, palmettes, and arabesques that create a lush and harmonious atmosphere. The color palette includes the intense red of the field, the dark blue of the medallion and main borders, enriched by touches of cream, light blue, and ochre, enhancing its complexity and depth. Slight color variations, known as "abrash," can be observed, lending a unique character to the piece, a hallmark of hand-knotted rugs.
The frame is composed of multiple borders, with the main border echoing the floral motifs and colors of the medallion, elegantly framing the central field. This Ardakan rug is perfect for adding a touch of elegance and warmth to any room, from the living room to the dining room, becoming a visually and culturally impactful focal point.
