This magnificent Gorawan rug, originating from Persia, is an authentic expression of Oriental textile art. Crafted with hand-carded wool for the pile and a cotton warp, it embodies the tradition and mastery of Persian weavers.
Characterized by a high density, with 160,000-200,000 knots per square meter and a thickness of 1 cm, it offers unparalleled robustness and softness, destined to last over time.
The design is dominated by an elaborate central medallion, enriched with geometric and stylized floral motifs, standing out against a predominantly brick red field. The corner spandrels echo elements of the medallion, creating harmonious visual continuity. The cream/ivory background of the corners and part of the inner field lightens the composition, highlighting the rich color palette.
The entire surface is expertly woven with an all-over design of intricate elements, including stylized floral and geometric shapes in shades of dark blue, light blue, beige, and brown. The multi-layered border, with its intricate pattern, frames the whole with elegance. The subtle color variations, known as abrash, attest to the use of natural dyes and add depth and character to the rug, making each piece unique.
Perfect for classic settings or to add a touch of warmth and history to modern spaces, the Gorawan is more than just a rug: it is a work of art that tells stories of distant lands and ancient traditions.
