This splendid Ardakan rug, hailing from the renowned artisanal tradition of Persia, is a textile work of art that captivates with its richness of detail and vibrant colors. Expertly hand-knotted using hand-carded wool, with a sturdy cotton warp, it features a density of 160,000-200,000 knots/sqm, ensuring remarkable robustness and a finely detailed weave. Its thickness of 1 cm adds body and a luxurious feel underfoot.
The central design is dominated by a polychrome medallion standing out against the brilliant red field, adorned with an elaborate all-over design of stylized floral motifs, including palmettes, rosettes, and sinuous vines. The main border, in dark blue, beautifully frames the field with a further series of floral decorations echoing the central motif, creating impeccable visual harmony. Subtle color variations, known as "abrash," attest to the authenticity and artisanal processing of naturally dyed wool, adding character and depth to the rug.
An Ardakan is more than just a rug: it's a piece of Persian history and culture, capable of transforming any environment into a space of refined elegance and warmth. Perfect for living rooms, dining rooms, or studies, it adapts beautifully to both classic and contemporary furnishings.
