This magnificent Ardakan rug, originating from the renowned region of Persia, is an authentic expression of traditional knotting art. Crafted with high-quality hand-carded wool and a cotton warp, it boasts a density of 160,000-200,000 knots per square meter, a testament to exceptional artisanal mastery.
The design is dominated by a large lozenge-shaped central medallion, richly adorned with stylized floral motifs, set against a vibrant red field. Around the medallion, a flowing vine and floral pattern extends harmoniously, populating the entire surface with palmettes, flowers, and leaves. The outer border, in a deep dark blue, beautifully frames the rug with a continuous floral vine design, emphasizing its classic elegance. Natural color variations, or abrash, add depth and character, revealing the charm of traditional dyeing. With a thickness of approximately 1 cm, it offers a robust and comfortable feel.
An Ardakan is more than just a rug; it is a work of art that imbues warmth and sophistication into any space, a piece of Persian history to live with and cherish.
