This magnificent Tabriz rug, originating from historical Persia, embodies the richness and complexity of oriental textile art. It is a hand-knotted masterpiece, the result of centuries-old craftsmanship passed down through generations. Its construction with hand-carded wool and a cotton warp ensures exceptional durability and a soft, luxurious feel. With a density ranging between 160,000 and 200,000 knots/sqm and a thickness of 1 cm, this rug is both robust and refined.
The design is dominated by a large, finely detailed polygonal central medallion with stylized floral motifs, set against a vibrant and deep red field. The medallion is surrounded by an all-over design consisting of intricate volutes, palmettes, and rosettes, characteristic of the renowned Herati pattern. The richly decorated border echoes the same stylistic elements, featuring a floral vine motif and cartouches enclosing small decorative elements.
The colors, although dominated by intense red, are expertly balanced by shades of dark blue, cream, beige, olive green, and gold, which add depth and vibrancy to the overall composition. The natural color variation in the wool, known as abrash, gives the rug an authentic character and unmistakable charm, testifying to its artisanal origin and the use of natural dyes.
A Tabriz rug is much more than just a decorative item; it is an investment in beauty and history, capable of transforming any environment, from the most classic to the most contemporary, adding a touch of opulence and warm hospitality. Perfect for living rooms, dining rooms, or studies, it will bestow an atmosphere of prestige and uniqueness.
