This magnificent Gorawan rug, originating from Persia, embodies the essence of Persian craftsmanship with its robustness and distinctive design. Hand-knotted with hand-carded wool on a cotton warp, it boasts a high density of 160,000-200,000 knots/sqm, ensuring exceptional durability and a rich texture.
The central motif is dominated by a large geometric medallion, which captures attention with its bold outlines and intricate weaving of stylized elements. This medallion is surrounded by a vibrant terracotta red field, enriched with secondary motifs arranged in an all-over design that perfectly balances the composition.
The color palette is deep and harmonious, predominantly featuring intense red, dark blue, and crimson, interspersed with touches of white and lighter blue, creating a captivating visual contrast. The multiple borders, densely adorned with traditional motifs, beautifully frame the central design, adding further depth and character to the rug. The presence of abrash (natural color variations) testifies to the authenticity and artisanal dyeing process.
A Gorawan rug is not merely a furnishing item but a textile work of art that carries centuries of tradition and history, capable of enriching any setting with its imposing and elegant presence.
