This splendid Persian Kilim, expertly handcrafted, represents a textile work of art that combines simplicity with cultural richness. Its origin in Persia is a testament to a centuries-old tradition in creating flatweave rugs, renowned for their robustness and intrinsic beauty.
Made entirely from hand-carded wool, with a cotton warp, each Kilim is unique. The wool has been hand-spun and dyed, giving the rug a palette of earthy and natural colors ranging from creamy beige to light brown, with occasional shades of gray and darker brown. The presence of abrash, the slight color variations between different bands, is not a defect but a distinctive sign of authenticity and the natural dyeing process.
The design features a pattern of horizontal stripes that covers the entire field (all-over design), interrupted by thicker bands of vibrant red and delicate light green on the short sides, adding a distinctive touch of color. This arrangement creates a harmonious and relaxing visual effect, ideal for environments seeking a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
With a thickness of approximately 0.4 cm, this Kilim is lightweight and versatile, perfect for placement in various settings, from a modern living room to a more traditional study. Its minimalist aesthetic and neutral tones make it extremely adaptable, capable of enhancing both contemporary and classic furnishings.
