This splendid Tabriz rug, originating from historical Persia, represents a magnificent example of oriental textile art. The cotton warp ensures stability, while the dense knotting of hand-carded wool (160,000-200,000 knots/sqm) provides extraordinary softness and resilience. Its thickness of approximately 1 cm contributes to a luxurious and comfortable feel underfoot.
The design is dominated by a majestic central medallion, beautifully elaborated in dark blue tones, which stands out against the vibrant red field. This medallion is surrounded by intricate floral motifs, including stylized palmettes, rosettes, and leaves, harmoniously distributed across the entire rug, creating an all-over design. The combination of ruby red, midnight blue, and accents of emerald green, sky blue, and ivory creates a rich and deep color palette, typical of high-quality Persian rugs.
The frame consists of several borders that elegantly enclose the central field. The main border, in dark blue, is adorned with a succession of floral motifs and cartouches, while the secondary borders, with their geometric and floral designs in green and light blue, add a touch of refinement. This Tabriz rug is a work of art that combines centuries-old tradition with timeless beauty, ideal for enriching any environment with warmth and prestige.
