This magnificent Persian rug, originating from the renowned Ardakan region in Persia, embodies the richness and complexity of oriental textile art. It is a work of art that combines tradition and craftsmanship, perfect for enriching any environment with a touch of exoticism and sophistication.
Crafted from hand-carded wool, this rug features a robust weave and a soft surface. The cotton warp ensures stability and durability, while the high knot density (between 160,000 and 200,000 knots/sqm) attests to the precision and attention to detail. The thickness of approximately 1 cm contributes to its substantial feel.
The design is characterized by a classic central medallion set against a vibrant red field, surrounded by an elaborate all-over design of stylized floral motifs, typical of the Persian style. The black spandrels echo the medallion, creating a harmonious visual balance. The main border, also black, is adorned with a succession of rosettes and flowering vines, while the secondary borders elegantly define the rug's perimeter. The main colors – red, black, and ivory – are balanced by shades of blue, gold, and gray, adding depth and vibrancy to the entire composition.
An Ardakan is more than just a rug; it is a piece of history and culture, capable of transforming a home into a space of timeless warmth and beauty. Its craftsmanship and the use of natural materials make it a lasting investment and an object of great value.
