This magnificent Ardakan rug, originating from Persia, is an exquisite example of ancient Persian textile art. Crafted with hand-carded wool on a cotton warp, it boasts a density of approximately 160,000-200,000 knots per square meter and a thickness of about 1 cm, attesting to its robustness and fine craftsmanship.
The rug is dominated by a deep and vibrant red central field, entirely decorated with an elaborate all-over floral design, composed of stylized palmettes, rosettes, and delicate arabesques that extend harmoniously.
At its heart lies a large central medallion, richly adorned with shades of dark blue, cream, and light blue, which is echoed by quarter medallions in the corners, creating a captivating visual balance. The outer frame consists of a wide navy blue border, also densely decorated with floral cartouche motifs and secondary guard borders that elegantly frame the main design. A textile work of art that brings warmth and sophistication to any room.
