This magnificent Ardakan rug, originating from Persia, embodies the richness and refinement of traditional Persian textile art. Crafted with exquisite hand-carded wool on a cotton warp, it boasts a density of 160,000-200,000 knots/sqm and a thickness of approximately 1 cm, ensuring both softness and durability over time.
The design features a majestic central medallion in light tones, enriched with sky-blue and beige details, standing out against the vibrant crimson red main field. The entire field is finely decorated with an all-over pattern of stylized floral motifs, including palmettes, rosettes, buds, and sinuous vines, arranged in a harmonious composition that evokes a blooming Persian garden.
The main border, in a deep midnight blue, is adorned with a succession of elegant palmettes and flowers intertwined with tendrils, flanked by delicate guard stripes that echo the colors and motifs of the central medallion. The slight color variations, known as abrash, attest to the use of natural dyes and the craftsmanship of the weaving, imbuing each piece with unique character.
An Ardakan rug is more than just a decorative item; it is a piece of history and culture, capable of transforming any space with its timeless elegance and warm, welcoming atmosphere.
