This authentic Lori rug, originating from Persia, is a magnificent example of nomadic textile art. Made entirely from hand-carded wool, it features a robust texture and an unmistakable aesthetic, with a cotton warp that ensures its stability.
The central field is dominated by a vibrant lacquer red, enriched by clear abrash that testifies to the natural dyeing and authenticity of the process. The design is characterized by large stylized diamond medallions in navy blue and cream, flanked by smaller, geometric tribal figures. The complex main border features a continuous meander motif, alternated with thinner bands that skillfully frame the entire piece. The stylized figures often represent elements of nature or protective symbols, typical of Lori culture.
With a density of 160,000-200,000 knots/sqm and a thickness of approximately 1.2 cm, this rug is extremely resistant and durable. Each knot tells a story of skill and tradition, making it not only a furnishing element but a true collectible work of art. The use of hand-carded wool gives the pile a unique luster and softness that improves with time and use.
