This splendid Lori rug originates from the ancient nomadic traditions of Persia, carrying with it centuries of history and art. Crafted with artisan mastery, each knot tells a part of a rich and fascinating culture. It is hand-knotted using high-quality hand-carded wool, with a cotton warp, ensuring durability and a pleasant feel to the touch.
The design is an explosion of traditional geometric motifs. The central field is dominated by a sequence of three large diamond-shaped medallions, each containing a cross or star motif, cleverly delineated. These medallions are framed by a myriad of small geometric details and tribal patterns, creating a rich and dynamic all-over design. The color palette is warm and deep: an intense red serves as the background, with elegant dark blue inserts and ivory and black details that stand out beautifully. The subtle variations in tone, known as abrash, attest to the use of natural dyes and the authenticity of the weaving process.
With a density of approximately 160,000-200,000 knots per square meter and a thickness of 1.2 cm, this Lori rug is robust and comfortable. Its rectangular dimensions make it versatile, ideal for enriching a living room, study, or hallway, adding a touch of authentic oriental elegance and a welcoming atmosphere to any space.
