This magnificent Kashan rug, originating from ancient Persia, is a textile work of art that embodies the richness and sophistication of Persian tradition. Expertly knotted, it features a classic and timeless design that captivates attention and enhances any room.
The heart of the rug is a finely elaborate central medallion, from which stylized floral motifs, typical of the Kashan repertoire, radiate. The corners of the field are adorned with quarter-medallions, creating a harmonious symmetry with the central design. The field is densely decorated with an all-over floral pattern, rich in branches, palmettes, and lotus flowers, all executed with exceptional precision.
The color palette is elegant and well-balanced: a refined ivory cream background highlights shades of sky blue and dark blue, enriched by touches of terracotta red and beige. The carefully delineated multiple borders frame the field with continuous floral motifs, adding depth and completeness to the overall design.
Made with hand-carded wool on a cotton warp, this Kashan offers a high knot density (160,000-200,000 knots/sqm) and a thickness of approximately 1.2 cm, ensuring a soft, resilient surface and exceptional durability. It is a piece that not only decorates but tells a story of artisanal skill and cultural heritage.
