This splendid rug, identified as a Lori, originates from the ancient textile traditions of Persia. It is a magnificent example of local craftsmanship, characterized by meticulous workmanship and precious materials.
Made with hand-carded wool, this rug features a cotton warp, ensuring strength and durability. The density of approximately 160,000-200,000 knots/sqm attests to the high quality of the weaving, while the 1.2 cm thickness provides a pleasant feeling underfoot and excellent wear resistance.
The design is dominated by a series of geometric medallions arranged longitudinally, with stylized motifs and jagged borders creating a dynamic visual effect. The color palette is rich, with a deep lacquer red as the main color, enriched by accents of dark blue, black, and ivory details. The use of hand-spun wool can generate slight color variations, known as "abrash," which add character and authenticity to the piece, celebrating the handmade nature of its creation.
This Lori rug is perfect for adding a touch of warmth and history to any environment, from the living area to the bedroom, integrating harmoniously into both classic and contemporary settings.
