This splendid Lori rug, hailing from the vast and rich Persian tradition, is an authentic expression of nomadic art. Bearing a name that evokes the warrior Lori tribes, this artifact embodies the strength and beauty of designs passed down through generations.
Its geometric medallion design gracefully extends across the field, dominated by a vibrant red color, enriched with darker shades that create depth and character. Each intricate and symmetrical medallion is outlined by hook motifs and serrated edges, typical of tribal aesthetics. Deep blue and light cream emerge in the details, creating contrasts that enhance the design's complexity. Small color variations, known as 'abrash', are noticeable, testifying to the natural dyeing process and artisan work.
The main border features a rhythmic sequence of stylized figures, reminiscent of caravan animals, adding a narrative element to the rug. These figures, along with secondary geometric motifs, harmoniously frame the central field. Made with hand-carded wool on a cotton warp, the rug boasts a density of 160,000-200,000 knots per square meter and a thickness of 1.2 cm, ensuring robustness and a pleasant feel. A work of art that carries the soul of Persia and its millennial history.
