This superb Ghom rug, originating from Persia, is a magnificent example of traditional weaving art. Made entirely of 100% pure silk, for both warp and pile, it offers an unmistakable luster and exceptional softness. With a density of 800,000-900,000 knots/sqm and a thickness of approximately 0.3 cm, it testifies to craftsmanship of the highest quality and lasting durability.
The design features a richly decorated central medallion, which captures attention with its finely elaborated details and stylized floral motifs. This medallion is framed by pendants extending into a burgundy field adorned with an all-over design of tiny flowers and tendrils. At the four corners, the symmetrical corner motifs echo elements of the medallion, creating visual harmony and balancing the overall composition. Several borders, with continuous floral patterns and geometric details, elegantly frame the main field, adding depth and sophistication to the piece.
The color palette is dominated by a deep burgundy in the field, brightened by shades of gold, beige, and cream in the medallion and borders. Delicate accents of blue, green, and pink enrich the floral details, imbuing the rug with an aura of nobility and warmth. A Ghom silk rug is more than just a floor covering; it is a legacy, an expression of artisanal mastery, and a joy to behold that transforms any environment into a space of refined beauty.
