Bidjar Hand-Carded Wool Runner: A Persian Masterpiece
This magnificent Bidjar runner embodies the robustness and intrinsic beauty of carpets originating from Persia. Known for their exceptional durability and vibrant colors, Bidjar rugs are often referred to as "iron carpets" due to their extremely compact weave.
The design features a series of three imposing geometric-floral medallions arranged lengthwise on the field. The background is characterized by a rich all-over floral pattern, with stylizations reminiscent of Persian tradition, particularly the Herati motif. The dominant colors are a vibrant terracotta red, a deep indigo blue, and accents of cream and beige that enhance its details. A slight abrash can be observed, a distinctive sign of natural dyeing and artisanal craftsmanship.
