Discover the charm and resilience of our Bidjar runner, a Persian carpet originating from the Iranian Kurdistan region, renowned for its exceptional durability and extraordinary craftsmanship. These carpets, often called "iron carpets" due to their compactness, are woven with a unique technique that makes them incredibly robust and long-lasting.
The piece features a fascinating design, characterized by three large elongated diamond-shaped medallions, arranged in succession on the central field. Each medallion is finely decorated with an intricate floral pattern that extends all-over on a light cream background, creating an attractive visual contrast. The outer field and borders are, instead, dominated by a warm terracotta hue, enriched with delicate stylized motifs and botanical elements that repeat harmoniously. Slight natural color variations, known as abrash, are noticeable, attesting to the artisanal dyeing of the wool and adding depth and authenticity to the carpet.
Made from high-quality hand-carded wool with a cotton warp, this runner boasts an impressive density of 400,000-450,000 knots/sqm, ensuring a dense and wear-resistant surface. Its thickness of 1.4 cm contributes to its luxurious feel and insulation. Perfect for hallways or environments requiring a touch of traditional elegance and unparalleled resilience.
