This splendid Moud rug, originating from the renowned artisanal tradition of Persia, is a magnificent example of oriental weaving mastery. Crafted with high-quality hand-carded wool, featuring a cotton warp, it offers a soft and durable texture, combined with a remarkable density of 160,000-200,000 knots/sqm and a thickness of 1.4 cm.
The central field presents a captivating checkered design, where each square encloses a unique and detailed motif. Elegant rosettes, stylized trees of life, "boteh" (more commonly known as paisley) motifs, and vases overflowing with flowers alternate. The chromatic palette is rich and varied, with a prevalence of brick red, beige, midnight blue, moss green, and brilliant gold, harmoniously distributed in an evocative polychrome effect. Subtle color variations (abrash) add depth and character to the rug, a testament to its artisanal authenticity.
The main border draws attention with a dynamic sequence of stylized animals, such as deer and birds, elegantly moving amidst intricate blooms and vines, all set against a warm red background. The thinner inner and outer guard stripes feature minute floral and geometric patterns that gracefully frame the overall design. This Moud is not just a piece of furniture; it is a work that narrates millennia-old stories and traditions, capable of imparting warmth and personality to any setting.
