This magnificent Shiraz rug, originating from the historic region of Persia, embodies the authentic nomadic and tribal knotting tradition. Crafted with high-quality hand-carded wool and a cotton warp, it offers a robust texture and unmistakable softness. Each knot tells a story, making this rug not just a furnishing item, but a piece of Persian history.
The craftsmanship of this Shiraz is evident in its density, ranging from 160,000 to 200,000 knots per square meter, testifying to the meticulous workmanship. With a thickness of 1 cm (approximately 0.4 inches), it guarantees durability and exceptional comfort underfoot. The hand-carded wool enhances the depth of colors and allows for a slight abrash effect, typical of authentic tribal artifacts, which adds character and uniqueness to the rug.
The rug's heart is dominated by a vibrant all-over floral design, skillfully woven onto an intense red background. Stylized motifs of flowers and leaves, enriched with delicate depictions of birds, create a lush and harmonious atmosphere. The chromatic palette includes tones of white, cream, black, brown, and green, which stand out beautifully against the deep red. The field is enclosed by an elegant cream-colored main border, decorated with rosettes and repeated floral motifs, and thinner secondary borders that gracefully define the entire composition. Color variations, known as "abrash", are a hallmark of authenticity and natural dyeing, giving the rug a timeless appeal.
